Water

You need to be drinking at least two liters of water each day to notice a difference. This keeps your mind, body, and vital organs hydrated. If you begin to notice exhaustion and a headache setting in and keeping you from doing your daily routine then it might be time to reach for some water. If you don’t like water then it can be a struggle to drink the recommended amount, there are ways around this. You might want to try drinking out of a water bottle or sports type bottle so you suck it through the straw. This way you don’t notice just how much you are actually drinking.

Exercise

Another thing that contributes to a healthy lifestyle is exercise. You should be aiming for around 45 minutes of vigorous exercise each day to see a difference. The key to this is finding something you enjoy doing, this could be anything from swimming to running. If you enjoy it then you are more likely to want to carry it on. It can be hard if you don’t want to work out in front of people, however, the good news is you can follow along to workout videos in the comfort of your own home. You might also get better results from heading to group workout sessions, this way you have motivation to do your best.

Sleep

As an adult you ideally need to be aiming for around six to nine hours of sleep each night. If you don’t get this then you can quickly begin to feel exhaustion each and every day. If you have children then sleeping through the night can be incredibly difficult. However, losing sleep can be associated with an uncomfortable mattress. You should change your mattress every eight to ten years as this can become lumpy and no longer support you.

Diet

You need to watch what you eat as this can contribute to how you look and feel about yourself. Ideally, you should be eating a healthy balanced diet every day with the occasional treat thrown in. A healthy balanced diet consists of filling your plate with carbohydrates, proteins, fats, dairy, fruits, and vegetables. If you struggle with portion control then it could be worth speaking to a dietician or nutritionist, they will be able to give you the best advice. If you want to incorporate

more fruit and veg into your diet but you don’t know how then you could make some smoothies. This way you don’t notice what you are eating and drinking, although be careful as these can contain a lot of natural sugars.
