When you think of buying in bulk, you see an image of 100 rolls of toilet tissue or 25 tubes of toothpaste. Bulk shopping has certainly taken on a new look in the recent past and has provided great savings for toiletry staples and food items alike. Bulk natural foods can include items such as nuts, fruits and vegetables. Other bulk items can include healthy spices. One particular favorite is the curry spice. Now, I know you’re saying curry is not a food, and I agree with you. It is, however, delicious, can be purchased in bulk, and has high nutritional benefits. With fresh ingredients, some curry spice and a little patience you can create a culinary masterpiece.
The Curry Craze
Curry is an aromatic spice that can be purchased in bulk. There are different types of curry and each of them can add a uniquely delicious touch to any meal. It is very nutritious and has a long shelf life of 3 to 4 years, if stored properly. Curry is a healthy and delicious spice that can be used to make deliciously memorable meals for your culinary delight.
Make it a meal.
Everyone loves a good meal. After all, food is the best way to provide our bodies the proper nutrients to promote a good healthy life. Eating natural foods doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, the opposite is true. Bulk natural foods can include raw nuts, dried beans and lentils, raw oats and when properly stored some fresh fruits can be purchased in bulk. Let’s take a look at three meals you can prepare using wholesale natural health foods.
Curry Tofu
You didn’t think we forgot about the curry spice, did you? A curry tofu dish in a coconut base brings color, warmth and nutrition to your table in about 45 minutes. Wash and cut all of the ingredients. Simmer in coconut milk then season to taste and garnish with cilantro and cashews. Voila, you have a healthy nutritious meal for all to enjoy.
Curry Vegetables
One of my favs is a simple curry lentil dish with sweet potatoes and carrots. The ingredients range from coconut oil and onions to red lentils, sweet potatoes and carrots. Cut and wash the ingredients. Simmer in the pot per the instructions. Season to taste, garnish and serve. This will keep them coming back for more.
Dried beans
Simply put, this dish is a delight. It does take more time because I’ve incorporated dry black-eyed peas into this recipe. This method requires a boil, soak, rinse and repeat method that cook the beans to perfection. I’ve imitated this recipe from a local natural grocery store in my area. Once the peas are cooked and cooled, I add chopped red onions, red bell peppers and chopped cilantro, then mix it in a homemade apple cider vinaigrette dressing seasoning it to taste.
Using wholesale natural health foods doesn’t have to be stale and boring. If you’re looking for a natural tasty desert, try a dollop of natural yogurt, chopped apples and a drizzle of raw honey. Sprinkle it with oats and boy is it good. It’s been fun. See ya next time.
