Where do you shop for your food? Have you been to your local farmers’ market recently? Have you been to some farmers’ markets in your travels? Share them here at To market, to market…
And for those who are joining this event, here’s the catch: I’m giving away the recipe book: Home Chefs of the World (Rice and Rice-based Recipes) in a raffle. This is a compilation of rice and rice-based recipes as cooked in kitchens of the world’s leading rice scientists (I’m still far from being one of them, though…). This book contains over a hundred recipes from 27 countries with rice as the main ingredient or dishes that go well with rice. Get a chance to know the origin of rice, too, and find out why rice is one of the most food crops in the world.

Sawadee kha! My name is Gay a.k.a. A Scientist in the Kitchen. Science and cooking are two of my passions. I'm a corn breeder who also loves to eat and cook. My kitchen is in Phitsanulok, Thailand where I am based together with Pasta (yes, I love Italian food!) my black labrador retriever.
I was going to do this, really I was… I just have to get more organized. The market that is open on Friday, when I normally shop, is pretty boring so I want to go the the Wednesday market….I will…. some day.
All of our markets are indoors, here, could be the rainy weather!
You still have time till May 10
Hello Gay!
Thank you for visiting my blog. I think it’s nicer to live in Los Banos. For one thing, the food is fresher! I also love the fresh milk from U.P.L.B.
The market I visit here in Malabon is not as busy as other big markets in the city. (As in only 1 stall selling chicken, 2 stalls selling pork…) I’m not sure if it is worth writing about. But I hope you get many entries for your event…
Will join you sa WHB nalang…
There’s a local market every Tuesday where I go to buy all of my fruit and vegetables, fresh farm eggs, local cheese, honey and sometimes meat and even wine.
I love the ambiance of the outdoor market. It is so much nicer than shopping in a grocery store!
