I am here in Cagayan de Oro to meet a friend on my to Iligan City where I will be staying for week. It’s work and pleasure at the same time. I’m giving a lecture/workshop on molecular biology and bionformatics for three days then attend a nephew’s wedding. I’m really looking forward to bonding with my cousins.
But first off, it’s a long way from GenSan, 4 hrs from GenSan to Davao then five hours from Davao to Cagayan de Oro. I have an hour and a half of travel ahead to get to Iligan. So am here, maximizing my time. Meeting one of my friends I met through chat. Maybe some bloggers later on. I arrived really early, around 4am, hanged at one of the 24-hr McDonald’s here and had the chance to attend mass. At the moment, I am having breakfast here at Missy Bon Bon, a breakfast cafe that reminds of my breakfasts in Quebec. They had great selection of breads, how I wish we had this kind of shop back in GenSan. Maybe I should open one? Hhhmmm… They also have great gelatto selections so maybe dessert after breakfast. Wow, what a sweet thought!
This was my bacon and egg breakfast. My first time to eat bacon after so many months! I tried two of their gelatto flavors – strawberry and melon. It was a bit disappointing. Just overly sweet and lack depth of flavor. I would probably go back here just for their breads and ambiance. And maybe try their pastas and salmon dishes.
PS – You still have time for my pesto giveaway!
