I chanced upon this roti stall in downtown Phitsanulok, the first weekend I was here.
But being too full from eating noodles and having cold coffee by the side walk, I contented myself with just taking pictures and videos of the whole process of roti making.
Last weekend, a friend gave me a tour of downtown Phitsanulok and pointed out the same roti stall as above. He said it’s the most famous in the city. If it’s that famous, I know I should come back.
I went back the next day and ordered sweet roti for 9 baht. And I was not disappointed. It’s soft, crunchy and chewy…
I’ve been craving about it since then but I don’t know if I’ll get the chance to come back before I leave Thailand *sigh*!

Sawadee kha! My name is Gay a.k.a. A Scientist in the Kitchen. Science and cooking are two of my passions. I'm a corn breeder who also loves to eat and cook. My kitchen is in Phitsanulok, Thailand where I am based together with Pasta (yes, I love Italian food!) my black labrador retriever.
Wow I miss those, they are really good, and always cooked while you wait.
Have you tried the different variants? Like the Roti Telur (Egg Roti) its really good when you dip in sambal as well as the Roti Nangka (Langka Roti).
The Roti looks delicious. Great photos.
I’ll try to go back there before I leave (keep my fingers crossed). I’ve been thinking about it all day.
