Papaya (Somtam) salad

This is another inspiration from Thai Food Tonight, much like the Chicken Basil Fried Rice I cooked previously. Somtam is one of my favorite salad to order whenever we eat at the Thai restaurant in Los Baños. I’ve been wanting to prepare this one but never seem to have time to do it. Once I made up my mind, I found out I didn’t have any peanuts but made papaya salad anyway.

The peanuts made the difference so when I had the chance to buy peanuts, I did not hesitate to make this salad again.

I am submitting this post to Andrea’s Grow Your Own event hosted by Wiffy of Noob Cook this round. The papaya, long beans and Thai chili all grow in the backyard. The recipes can be found at Thai Food Tonight.

This looks good! With papaya, long beans and Thai chili, I just know that you have a flourishing garden in the backyard. Thanks for submitting your entry to GYO!

Btw, did you send me an email with your entry? I found your post through my incoming links, and I just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss any emails. Thanks!

Now that looks tasty! I used to have a Thai chili plant, but had to stop growing them because of my little boys trying to eat them! They learned their lesson, but I decided to wait until they got a little older. :-)
